Questions and answers

What is Dragon Budget?

Dragon Budget is a budgeting app concept and static calculator that helps people answer “Can I afford this?” by estimating safe-to-spend money.

What does safe-to-spend mean?

Safe-to-spend means money left after accounting for your current balance, upcoming income, bills, planned expenses, savings goals, and emergency buffer.

Can Dragon Budget tell me if I can afford something?

The calculator can estimate whether a purchase fits the numbers you enter. It cannot know every future event, so treat the result as a budgeting aid.

Is Dragon Budget financial advice?

No. Dragon Budget is a budgeting aid, not financial advice. It helps organize your numbers but does not replace professional advice.

Who is Dragon Budget for?

It is for people who want a clearer daily spending number, especially when upcoming bills, irregular income, or savings goals make a bank balance hard to interpret.

Does Dragon Budget connect to my bank?

The current static calculator does not connect to banks. Future account or bank features would require an updated privacy policy before launch.

Is there a free version?

Yes. The static Can I Afford This calculator is free to use.

How does adaptive pricing work?

Adaptive pricing is planned as a transparent way to keep premium features affordable, with a possible $1 to $20 monthly range. It is not active on this static site.

Is my financial data private?

The current calculator runs in your browser and does not store or transmit your inputs by default.

When will Dragon Budget be available?

The static calculator is available now. The fuller app is in MVP planning, and planned features are labeled as planned.

What is Dragon Advisor?

Dragon Advisor is a planned local-data assistant that explains budget calculations and cites the bills, balances, subscriptions, goals, and planned items it used.

Can Dragon Budget help with subscriptions?

Subscription Watch is planned for the full app. The static site currently includes a browser-only subscription savings calculator and subscription audit guide.

Can Dragon Budget help with event budgeting?

Event budgeting is planned for the app, and this site includes a browser-only event budget demo plus an event budgeting guide.

Where can I see what is available now?

The app status matrix separates available static site features from planned and future app features.
